Maximize profit from your website II.

Yesterday I was looking some information about AdSense and how to optimize for maximum profit… There is tons of information and most of it is not useful at all. I was reading over and over the vague statements how color, placement and good content can increase your revenues 3-10x, etc. Then it struck me. Of course you can increase the revenue, but what if you have website for example about real estate with 300-500 unique visitors per day. My guess for AdSense ad revenues will be somewhere between $3-$20 per day. If we take the optimistic scenario that’s $600 per month. Now take the same website and start selling leads to real estate agents, mortgages brokers and home improvement companies. And I don’t mean through affiliate programs, because that might bring you the same revenue as AdSense or maybe even lower. Take it to your own hand and make partnership with people who might need leads and promotion. The potential there is much bigger. I can actually talk from my experience. One of my real estate websites is bringing hundreds of thousands in closed deals to people I provide leads. The same website would bring about couple of hundreds in ad revenue. It is much easier to get paid well if people you working make hundreds of thousands, right? They will really see your value there:-)

If you have website related to business or real estate let me know. There might be way how I can really help you monetize what you have.

Maximize profit from AdSense

It is very difficult to know if you are fully using advertising potential of your website. It doesn’t matter if your web is small. You can still make nice profit per day. Google AdSense doesn’t make anything easier with its rule not allowing to share specific information about your earnings.
See Terms of AdSense service for yourself.
So how do you know that your web is running on its full potential? That’s very difficult. I saw myself that earning per day from small website was increased from $1.00 per day to about $8.00 per day. And that was website with just few visitors. Just changing the colors, position and layout of the page did huge difference. Most of the people will never recognize that they might be making three to ten times more money then now. What if you are making $1,000 per month, but with few changes you can be making $10,000? There might be serious business opportunity to provide such service. I would be willing to take % cut from any improvement for limited time as only compensation to provide such service. Just an idea, but I think this might be good one:-) Do you want to go in business with me?:-)

What is the next big idea?

I wish someone tells me before I read about it in news:-) Some of the very successful ideas were so simple that I feel stupid that something similar didn’t come to my mind. It is really unbelievable how great opportunity is Internet giving us. There are new opportunities coming every day. Especially with introduction of completely new applications like now with Google Base or Google Maps. I already know that there will be some new and great ideas we will see in the next coming days. I have some of my own I want to do pretty quickly. I just wish I get to know more people who I could brainstorm and realize some of these applications together. There must be more people who want to come up with totally new way how to do old things. And it is all possible now.

How is your website popular and usefull?

Try this great and free tool SiteScore.
Get your side ranked based on:

Marketing
How well marketed, and popular the website is. Is the website well linked to? Does it feature highly in key search engines, for relevant terms?

Design
How well designed and built the website is. We test for various industry standard practices, and whether they were used correctly on the website (for example: use of frames, style sheets, redirections etc)

Accessibility
How accessible the website is, particularly to those with disabilities. Recent UK and US government legislation makes this a legal requirement in many countries, which we test against.

Experience
How satisfying the website is likely to be. We test various things, such as the speed of your website, the amount of variation between webpages, the number of clicks required to navigate between one page and another.

User
Average user feedback, gathered from people rating the websites in our list. Users are asked to rate how a website looks, on a scale of 1-10. This is the only non-automatic test, and as a result it can take some time for a website to gather enough votes to score here.

Is there a Sandbox? Directly from Matt Cutts on PubCon

There is no Sandbox!!! Matt told us all at PubCon conference in Las Vegas. There are certain ways how the Googgle algorithm works so the outcome might be explained like Sandbox effect. What that means? If you site is naturally linked then it will never be in Sandbox. New sites can go up immediately, get high PR and never be in Sandbox. There are examples all over the Internet. But if you start new site, add hundreds of reciprocal links or paid links then you are almost guaranteed to have your site in so called “Sandbox” (not showing in regular search results).

Does it pay to use PAID LINKS?

What we heard on PubCon conference from mouth of Matt Cutts is that Google has the ability to find out if you are using paid links to promote your website. The way I see it is that if your website looks natural and you have few paid links then everything is OK. If you set up website with hundreds of paid links it will give your website red flag and you might get into trouble.
